Peter von Haaren is the owner of von Haaren Diversified Services with over 25 years of engineering experience. Raised in West Germany, Peter graduated from the University of Munich, Landsberg am Lech, with degrees in Agricultural Management, General Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering. After participating in an exchange program with the University of Minnesota's Agriculture Department between 1969-1971 he recognized and appreciated the progressive approach to agriculture in the United States and immigrated in 1973 to begin his own farm in Lake City, MN. In 1979 Peter became Owner and General Manager of Marketing and Sales for the U.S. division of Westphal ING. K.G. Ltd, a builder of fuel ethanol plants. His responsibilities included market development, full plant design, construction management and technical translation of blueprints and equipment manuals. After leaving Westphal Peter started consulting to the ethanol industry through his own business, von Haaren Diversified Services. Peter went on to work for Minnesota Clean Fuel in 1996, performing food and industrial waste conversion and researching the value of different feed stocks on fuel ethanol production. He also spent two years at Endres Processsing, converting food wastes into high protein animal feed. When a position in The Schwan Food Company's engineering division in Red Wing was offered Peter took the opportunity to work closer to home and cut down on travel. He worked exclusively on new product development with an emphasis on food dispensing and portion control. As Peter learned new things in the food and waste processing industries, he took fewer independent jobs through von Haaren Diversified Services. Late in 2004 Schwans announced they would sell off the engineering division and Peter decided it was time to ramp up his business to full power once again. He is excited to bring all his additional experience to the table in order to best serve your needs. Please see our Services for all that von Haaren Diversified Services can do for you! |
